At the beginning of November 2022, a highly challenging and addictive metroidvania game was released for the Nintendo Switch. We are referring to the game Eternal Night (read our review here). Developed by Aeternum Game Studios from Talavera, this title quickly gained recognition in the Spanish and international video game scene. Now, the studio is back with a prequel called The Eternal Supreme, which aims to expand the universe of Aeterna by incorporating roguelite elements. In this article, we will share our analysis of the game for Nintendo Switch.
A Story with Chiaroscuros
The Eternal Supreme puts players in the shoes of the King of Darkness, a ruthless and charismatic warlord who rules over Aeterna during a turbulent period. It’s important to note that this character is different from the one controlled in Eternal Night. The game serves as a prequel, taking place before the events of Aeternum Game Studios’ debut film.
