An ambitious live-action of Cyberpunk 2077 is underway with the producers of ‘True Detective’ and CD Projekt

The live-action of Cyberpunk 2077 could have several stars already confirmed and its premiere is still uncertain, but it is in good hands
Anonymous Content, known for producing acclaimed series like True Detective and Mr. Robot, as well as award-winning films like The Revenant and Spotlight, is collaborating with CD Projekt Red on this project. The television director of Anonymous Content Studios, Garret Kemble, along with development director Ryan Schwartz and creative director David Levine, are working closely with CD Projekt Red. The project is still in its early stages and they are currently searching for a screenwriter to bring a new story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 to life.
«The mysterious live-action project of Cyberpunk 2077 still does not have a scriptwriter,» CD Projekt Red stated.
There have been rumors that Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba may be involved in the project, although their roles are yet to be confirmed. While the story may deviate from the original game, fans are excited to see these talented actors potentially joining the project, even if it’s just in cameo appearances. Cyberpunk has already ventured into the audiovisual realm with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, a highly acclaimed anime on Netflix.
As for the release date, it is still uncertain. Considering the recent writers’ strike in Hollywood and ongoing issues with actors’ rights, it may take a while before the project comes to fruition. However, having the producers of True Detective and HBO veterans on board ensures a certain level of quality. Recreating the vast universe of Night City will be a challenging task that requires dedication and hard work from the team.
