The Modern is on fire this week! The most exquisite tea room in Madrid from the 1930s does not give us a single respite. The reunion of Íñigo and Matilde left us breathless, however, their relationship has gone from bad to worse until she told herself and broke up with him. Marta has begun to steal from the box that Doña Teresa guards, and Miguel and Trini don’t know how to hide their marriage. Have you missed it? Don’t worry! Chapter 5: Íñigo and Matilde Have Their First Kiss
Desperate to help at home and please her uncle, who gives her shelter under his roof, Marta takes advantage of an oversight in the tea room and ends up stealing a peseta. When he arrives at her house, her uncle scolds her for what she has done.
In Retiro Park, Matilde and Íñigo enjoy a romantic date. Despite not seeing each other for eight years, time has not passed for the couple. There, in the magical place where they met, their first passionate kiss takes place.
Chapter 6: Someone Tries to Kill Íñigo
A stranger sneaks into Íñigo Peñalver’s house and tries to end his life. This is the hitman hired by Balbín. With many suspicions of who may be behind it, Mrs. Carla meets with the businessman and asks him to leave his old love alone.
Teresa continues to take advantage of any excuse to get close to Miguel and Pietro does not give up on his idea of serving ice cream in The Modern. Don Fermín gives him a chance, but Esperanza ruins his recipe.
Chapter 7: Carla Is Very Hurt by Íñigo and Matilde’s Relationship
Íñigo calls Doña Carla to make it clear to her what his intentions are with Matilde. She seems to accept it, but deep down she has other very perverse ideas. Don Jaime’s wife visits Matilde’s corrala and approaches Clarita.
Chapter 8: Clarita Disappears
Clarita disappears and no one can find her. The Garcés are completely desperate, especially Rosario, who cannot imagine life without her little girl. The person responsible is none other than Doña Carla, who, willing to do anything to harm Matilde, has taken the young woman from the corrala.
Teresa finds Trini’s wedding ring, but Miguel pretends that he was the one who lost it and that it is a family memory.
Chapter 9: Matilde Discovers Íñigo with Doña Carla
Matilde visits Íñigo by surprise and finds the boy with his shirt unbuttoned and Carla next to him. Matilde leaves angry and fearing the worst. However, Don Jaime’s wife was just healing his wound.
Chapter 10: Matilde Breaks Up with Íñigo
Tired of Íñigo’s lies, Matilde breaks up with him. The young woman is tired of so much mystery. She believes that her life with him will always be like this. Therefore, she makes the hard decision to put an end to her love story.
Jaime receives an envelope in which the identity of the man he killed in the accident appears, and of the wife and children whom he left without a husband and without a father. Despite his eagerness to compensate the family, he does not dare to read the document. The one who does it is Carla and the information she finds leaves her stunned: The man her husband killed is none other than Juan José Garcés, Matilde’s father.
Chapter 11: Matilde Wants Another Chance with Íñigo
After meeting Íñigo in the soup kitchen, Matilde decides to give it another chance, but it is he who, fearing for the young woman’s life, decides to reject her. Aguirre has already warned him that he can go after her girlfriend and he decides to stay away from her.
Cañete gives Trini a very special gift.
