Leak Forces Early Release of GTA 6 Trailer, Upsetting Rockstar Games Team Members

Leaked GTA 6 Trailer Forces Early Release, Disappointing Rockstar Games

December 5 was supposed to be a monumental day for gamers worldwide, as Rockstar Games had planned to release the highly anticipated official trailer for GTA 6 at 3:00 p.m. However, an unfortunate leak occurred, forcing the company to advance the premiere of the trailer.

The leaked video surfaced online on the night of December 4, catching Rockstar Games off guard. Faced with no other option, they had to release the trailer earlier than planned, much to the dismay of certain members within the company. The excitement and celebration they had envisioned were abruptly disrupted.

Javier Altman, a senior gameplay animator at Rockstar Games, expressed his frustration on his now-deleted Twitter account. In a captured message, he wrote, «It’s bullshit. I was hoping to see this for the first time tomorrow along with my teammates and coworkers. I feel like we deserved that moment. I am very proud of what we have developed. Everyone enjoy the trailer.»

Altman’s disappointment is understandable, as the company had intended for the trailer’s release to be a special event within their office. However, he later shared that he was overwhelmed with joy by the positive response from fans, stating, «I can’t believe I was a part of this.»

Amy Hartley, associate lead animator at Rockstar Games, also commented on the situation, acknowledging that the leak happened earlier than expected. However, she remained positive, expressing her pride in the team’s work on the game and stating that it will be incredible.

Despite the unexpected release, the GTA 6 trailer has made a significant impact, accumulating over 51 million views on YouTube within just 10 hours. Fans will have to wait patiently for the game’s release, as GTA 6 is set to launch in 2025 on a yet-to-be-determined date.
