Samsung’s Next Foldables to Preview Design Changes for Galaxy S25 Flagships
Bigger changes than in previous years are expected for Samsung’s next foldables, expected in mid-2024 as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. According to an internal Samsung source, we should expect a preview of the design innovations that will also become widespread in the flagship Galaxy S25 generation in 2025.
Galaxy S25 Design Preview Expected in Mid-2024
The year 2025 is still a long way off, but Samsung fans can expect at least a preview of the design of the Galaxy S25 generation by mid-2024. This is the subject of a recent leak from a Samsung insider on the South Korean Naver forum. Consequently, Samsung would already be moving in the direction of the Galaxy S25, that is, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, when it comes to the design of the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5, which are expected in July and August 2024, respectively.
It’s still not entirely clear what we can expect, but there are some clues. As has already been mentioned several times in the past, the display format of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will change: on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, the edges of the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s flexible AMOLED display will be thinner. The Galaxy Z Flip 5’s cover screen, which was initially very large, will also change again. Despite the larger screens overall, both foldables are expected to lose weight.
Although somewhat cryptic, there are also signs of a possible greater fold in the flex screen. As always, you have to take these early leaks with a grain of salt, although the current leak is definitely in line with previous indications. Samsung will also face stronger global competition in the field of foldables for the first time in 2024, as there are already good alternatives on the market, not only from Honor and Google, but above all in the form of the Oppo Find N3 and the OnePlus Open. Finally, Xiaomi is also expected to launch a foldable internationally in 2024.
