LG presents new OLED monitors with a refresh rate of up to 480 Hz for gaming

The new LG monitors that will arrive next year will have a refresh rate that can reach up to 480 Hz

LG has just introduced new OLED monitors for gaming that have up to 480 Hz refresh rate.

LG has recently unveiled a new lineup of monitors designed for gaming enthusiasts, with one of its standout features being the OLED panel capable of achieving a refresh rate of up to 480 Hz. These monitors belong to LG’s UltraGear OLED family and come in various screen sizes.

The new gaming monitor family consists of six models, expanding the options for users. The first three models are the LG UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor 32GS95UE, 39GS95QE, and 34GS95QE, with screen sizes of 32, 39, and 34 inches respectively. They are accompanied by the 45GS95QE, 45GS96QB, and 27GS95QE, with screen sizes of 45 inches, 45 inches, and 27 inches respectively.

What sets these new LG monitors apart is their ability to switch from 240 Hz to 480 Hz by simply changing a monitor setting. The LG UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor 32GS95UE, which is 32 inches in size, allows for this transition, going from 4K resolution at 240 Hz to Full HD at 480 Hz.

While maintaining 4K resolution and combining it with 480 Hz may not be logical, LG has made it possible to achieve the highest refresh rate by sacrificing resolution and switching to Full HD. LG has made this change instantaneous with the help of a button that applies the settings at will.

This means that even in the middle of a game, users can instantly switch from 4K at 240 Hz to Full HD at 480 Hz without having to adjust game parameters, as the change is made directly on the monitor. Additionally, the monitor boasts a remarkable 0.03 millisecond gray-to-gray response time.

The remaining features of the LG UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor 32GS95UE are similar to its counterparts, the 39GS95QE and 34GS95QE, with the exception that the latter two models have a curved format and different screen sizes as mentioned earlier.

The other three models, 45GS95QE, 45GS96QB, and 27GS95QE, have a refresh rate of 240 Hz and are compatible with G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro. The first two models feature a curved format, while the third model is flat and the smallest in size.

As of now, the prices and availability of these monitors are still unknown. However, further details can be found on the official LG website. The company is expected to announce the release date and pricing in the coming weeks.
