2024 Promises to Be a Special Year for Horror Games
The horror genre in the video game industry has had its ups and downs, but fortunately, it seems that good times are ahead. Following an exceptional 2023 with titles like Alan Wake 2 and the remakes of Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space, the upcoming year, 2024, is also set to offer a thrilling assortment of horror games that should not be overlooked. However, the future looks even more promising beyond the next year.
In an interview with the Japanese portal 4Gamer, the creator of Silent Hill, Keiichiro Toyama, revealed that his new video game, Slitterhead, will make 2024 a «special year» for the project. Toyama, who now leads Bokeh Game Studio, shared this exciting news alongside Kazunobu Sato, another key member of the studio.
Slitterhead: A Highly Anticipated Horror Title
Slitterhead, the upcoming horror game from Bokeh Game Studio, has been shrouded in mystery until now. However, Sato expressed his confidence in the project, stating, «Bokeh Game Studio continues its hard work developing Slitterhead. I think next year will be a very special one for the project.»
Toyama also shared his ambitions for the upcoming year, emphasizing the significance of Slitterhead’s release for the studio’s future. He said, «2024 will be a decisive year when our studio’s first game, Slitterhead, will really start to show itself. Since it will significantly influence our future, it will be an important year, so I would like to approach it with enthusiasm.»
While it is clear that Slitterhead will not be released in 2024, as previously assumed, the statements from the leaders of Bokeh Game Studio indicate that the project is progressing well. Fans can expect to catch a glimpse of the studio’s debut title in motion in the near future.
