Rumor: Sea of Thieves Could Be Coming to More Consoles
In the midst of speculation surrounding Microsoft’s recent announcements, including the release of «As Dusk Falls» on PlayStation and rumors of «Hi-Fi Rush» on new platforms, a new rumor has emerged suggesting that another Xbox and PC title, «Sea of Thieves» by Rare, may also be expanding its reach to other consoles.
This rumor comes from well-known insider Jeff Grubb, who discussed the matter on the latest episode of Game Mess Morning. According to Grubb, there have been talks about the possibility of «Sea of Thieves» expanding to other platforms, specifically mentioning the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. This potential move is believed to be part of a new strategy by Microsoft.
«Sea of Thieves,» released in 2018, is an open-world pirate-themed multiplayer adventure developed by Rare. Expanding its availability to more consoles would undoubtedly attract a larger player base. It’s worth noting that this rumor doesn’t rule out the possibility of other Xbox titles, including single-player games like «Hi-Fi Rush,» also being relaunched on additional systems.
«Hi-Fi Rush» Rumored to Come to PlayStation as Well as Switch
Adding to the excitement, it appears that «Hi-Fi Rush» from Tango Gameworks will not only be coming to the Nintendo Switch, as previously rumored, but also to PlayStation. Resetera user «Loliolailo,» who initially leaked the information about the game’s availability on the Nintendo console, has clarified that there were plans for both a Switch and PS5 version in development. However, it’s possible that these plans may have changed, with the Switch version potentially being discarded in favor of the PS5.
«I don’t think this will change the whole scenario about some specific Xbox/Bethesda/Activision Blizzard games becoming cross-platform,» Loliolailo stated.
