Full Game Release Confirmed for Early 2024 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4
SQUARE ENIX has officially announced the upcoming release of their highly anticipated game, FOAMSTARS Global Open Beta, exclusively for PlayStation. The open beta will be available for PlayStation players starting on September 29. During the recent State of Play live broadcast, SQUARE ENIX unveiled the exciting news about the “FOAMSTARS OPEN BETA PARTY,” inviting PlayStation 5 players to get a sneak peek and experience the chaotic, competitive, and cool foam shooting game before its official launch in early 2024. Players can download the beta version for free from the PlayStation Store.
As a token of appreciation for participating in the open beta, players will receive an exclusive cosmetic item for the Soa character when they download the full game upon its release.

- Saturday, September 30 @ 03:00 (PET) – Monday, October 2 @ 08:59 (PET)
- Friday, September 29 @ 6:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) – Sunday, October 1 @ 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time)
- Saturday, September 30 @ 02:00 (UK time) – Monday, October 2 @ 07:59 (UK time)
How to Join the Beta:
To participate in the FOAMSTARS OPEN BETA PARTY, simply download the game software from the PlayStation Store and launch it on a PlayStation 5 console during the event period. No PlayStation Plus subscription is required to join the open beta.
The Two Game Modes:
- DESTROY THE STAR: Engage in a frenetic battle where the winning strategy evolves as the game progresses. In this mode, each team must strive to achieve seven knockouts against the opposing team. Once accomplished, the best player is crowned the star player, becoming the key to victory. To win the game, teams must defeat the rival team’s star player while protecting their own.
- SURVIVAL BATHROOM: Experience an intense battle between two teams, with two players on the field and two players outside. Victory is achieved by defeating both opponents from the inner team, while the outer team provides support and defense for their teammates.
SQUARE ENIX has also revealed the talented teams behind the game’s composition and artistic character design. The music is composed by MONACA, and the character design is led by the renowned Gurihiru team of illustrators.
