Indie World November 2023 Roundup: Exciting New Indie Games for Nintendo Switch
The highly anticipated Indie World event has returned, showcasing a plethora of indie games coming to the beloved Nintendo Switch in the near future. This event, separate from the Nintendo Direct, focuses solely on independent games from studios around the world, many of which will also be available on PC.
Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution
Shantae, the beloved heroine of several Game Boy Color games, is making a comeback. Originally planned for the Game Boy Advance but canceled, the game is now being revived in collaboration with Limited Run Games. Fans can expect the game to be released in 2024, featuring the original GBA graphics and a multiplayer mode for up to four players.
Core Keeper
Embark on an adventure in procedurally generated underground worlds with Core Keeper. This game offers combat, customization, crafting, farming, and multiplayer for up to eight players. Currently available on Steam in early access, the game is set for a definitive release in summer 2024.
On Your Tail
Join Diana, an intrepid young reporter, in a thrilling detective adventure set in a charming seaside resort town. Inspired by the Italian coast and the developers’ own childhood memories, On Your Tail offers a delightful mix of mystery-solving and leisure activities such as swimming and fishing. The game will be a temporary exclusive on Switch consoles in 2024.
Howl
Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Howl, a beautiful turn-based strategy game with stunning 2D graphics created using ink drawings. Play as a deaf prophetess who holds the key to saving the world from a curse of howling wolves. The game is now available with a free demo in the eShop.
The Star Named EOS
Prepare for an emotional journey with The Star Named EOS, a narrative game that revolves around the theme of photography. As players replicate photos from a mysterious album, they uncover the truth about their absent mother. This intimate experience of love and understanding will be released in spring 2024.
Backpack Hero
Experience the joy of organizing your inventory in Backpack Hero, a fun roguelike RPG that takes inspiration from games like Resident Evil 4 and Unpacking. This game took Steam by storm upon its release in August 2022 and is now available on Switch.
Blade Chimera
Step into a cyberpunk world and defend Osaka from a demon invasion in Blade Chimera. Wield the Lumina sword, capable of manipulating time and space, in this action-packed 2D game with pixel art and spectacular animations. Exclusive to Nintendo Switch, Blade Chimera will be released in spring 2024.
A Highland Song
Embark on a 2D platforming adventure set in the breathtaking mountains of Scotland with A Highland Song. The game’s narrative evolves based on the paths players choose, and they will encounter various characters accompanied by traditional Scottish music. A Highland Song will be available on December 5th.
Moonstone Island
Get ready for a life simulation and creature collecting experience in Moonstone Island. With over 100 procedurally generated islands, players can engage in farming, socialization, exploration, combat, and alchemy. This highly popular game on Steam will be released on Switch in 2024.
Death Trick: Double Blind
Put your detective skills to the test in Death Trick: Double Blind, a captivating visual novel. Interview circus workers, search for contradictions, and make decisions to solve the case. This temporary exclusive on Switch consoles will be available in 2024, with a demo already accessible.
Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition
Outer Wilds, the critically acclaimed space exploration game, is finally coming to Nintendo Switch. Embark on a thrilling adventure to explore a solar system within 22-minute time loops. Each exploration reveals new discoveries, puzzles, and connections. The Archaeologist Edition, including the Echoes of the Eye expansion, will be released on December 7th, with a physical edition planned for 2024.
